Honoring Democracy, Leadership & the Spirit of Aloha
A nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Hawaii's rich presidential history and inspiring future generations through civic education and democratic values.
The Hawaii Presidential Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in the heart of Honolulu. Founded with a deep commitment to civic engagement, our center serves as a hub for historical education, presidential studies, and democratic leadership development across the Hawaiian Islands and the broader Pacific region.
We believe that understanding the history of American democracy and the unique role Hawaii has played in shaping national leadership is essential for building an informed and engaged citizenry. Through our programs, exhibitions, and community outreach, we connect people of all backgrounds to the stories that have shaped our nation.
Our team of dedicated professionals, historians, and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that Hawaii's contributions to American democracy are recognized, celebrated, and passed on to future generations.
To preserve, promote, and celebrate Hawaii's presidential history and democratic heritage while fostering civic education and leadership development for communities across the Pacific.
A Hawaii where every resident understands the profound connection between the islands and American democratic ideals, and where civic participation is embraced as a cornerstone of community life.
Integrity, inclusivity, and a deep respect for Hawaii's multicultural heritage guide everything we do. We honor the Aloha Spirit in all our interactions and programs.
The Hawaii Presidential Center offers a diverse range of programs designed to educate, inspire, and engage the community. Our flagship Presidential History Exhibition brings to life the stories of American presidents who shaped policy affecting Hawaii and the Pacific.
Our Youth Civic Leadership Program partners with local schools to provide students with hands-on learning experiences in government, history, and civic responsibility. Each year, hundreds of students participate in mock elections, historical debates, and leadership workshops.
The Center also hosts the annual Hawaii Democracy Forum, bringing together scholars, policymakers, and community leaders to discuss the future of democratic governance in the Pacific. Additionally, our Digital Archive Project preserves thousands of historical documents, photographs, and artifacts related to Hawaii's political history.
Since our founding, the Hawaii Presidential Center has made a measurable difference in civic education across the state. Our programs have reached thousands of students in public and private schools, helping them understand the importance of democratic participation and the unique role Hawaii plays in American history.
We are proud to have partnered with the University of Hawaii, the Hawaii State Library System, and numerous community organizations to expand our reach and deepen our impact. Your support makes this work possible.
We welcome inquiries from individuals, schools, and organizations interested in partnering with or supporting the Hawaii Presidential Center.
